Skills 'n' Drills Course Information

Our first course in 2022 will begin on April 26th and will be hosted by St. Mary's College in the old gym of the Michael P. Obrien Athletics and Recreation Center.  If you have a child interested in attending our volleyball Skills 'n' Drills course, please complete the registration form found below and email to skillsndrills@watermeloninc.org by April 19th. ​

Dates:          Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 26th – June 7th
Times:          5 – 6:30 pm (ages 10-13); 6:30 – 8 pm (ages 13-16)
Location:      St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Michael P. O’Brien Athletics and Recreation Center (in the old gym)
Cost:            $50

Course Syllabus and Schedule

Here is an outline of our course syllabus and schedule.  All sessions will begin with warmup and stretching exercises. This course syllabus and schedule is a guideline and can be altered by the lead instructor.

April 26 – Intro to the basics: passing, setting, hitting, and serving.
April 28 – Passing focus.
May   3 – Setting focus.
May   5 – Hitting focus.
May 10 – Serving focus.
May 12 – Movement and court coverage.
May 17 – Gaming strategies, reinforcing skills.
May 19 – Reinforcing skills.
May 24 – Scrimmage 1 (Random teams).
May 26 – Scrimmage 2 (Team A versus Team B).
May 31 – Scrimmage 3 (Team A/B versus Instructors).

REGISTRATION

Please note that space is limited and completion of a registration form does not guarantee a space in the course.  All signed registration forms must be emailed to skillsndrills@watermeloninc.org by April 19th. Please email us if you have any questions!  Our final course roster will be emailed to you and the course fee must be paid in cash during the first session.
